Start Simple, Build Strong

With so many skincare products and trends out there, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed about where to begin. The truth is, great skin starts with getting the basics right. A consistent, uncomplicated routine can completely transform your skin’s health and glow, no fancy products required.

At Fox Aesthetics, I always encourage clients to start with a simple foundation that works for every skin type. Once your skin is balanced and healthy, you can then build on it with targeted treatments or advanced products.

Here’s how to create your simple six-step routine, three steps in the morning and three in the evening, to get your skin back to its best.

Morning Routine: Protect and Prepare

1. Gentle Cleanse
Start your morning by washing away oil, sweat, and any residue that builds up overnight. A gentle cleanser refreshes your skin without stripping its natural barrier, leaving it soft and comfortable. This step prepares your skin to absorb the next products properly.

2. Vitamin C
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that brightens the complexion and helps protect the skin from environmental stress, pollution, and UV damage. It also helps even out tone and supports collagen production for firmer, more radiant skin. Think of it as your daily dose of glow.

3. Sunscreen
Sunscreen is non-negotiable. Daily SPF protects against premature ageing, pigmentation, and fine lines caused by UV exposure, even on cloudy days. It’s the single most important product in your morning routine to maintain healthy, youthful skin.

Evening Routine: Repair and Restore

1. Gentle Cleanse
Cleansing again in the evening removes makeup, sunscreen, and impurities that accumulate during the day. Double cleansing can be helpful if you wear makeup, but always stick to a gentle formula that respects your skin barrier.

2. Retinol
Retinol (Vitamin A) is a true skin hero. It helps boost cell renewal, smooth fine lines, improve texture, and brighten dull skin. Used regularly, it can transform the skin’s tone and firmness. Start slowly (a few nights a week) to let your skin adjust and always use SPF the next day.

3. Moisturiser
Finish with a nourishing moisturiser to lock in hydration and support your skin’s overnight repair process. This helps strengthen the skin barrier, keeping it soft, supple, and protected from dryness or irritation.

Keep It Simple and Consistent

This back-to-basics routine is suitable for all skin types and gives your skin everything it needs to stay healthy, cleanse, protect, repair, and hydrate.

When your skin feels balanced and happy, you can explore professional treatments such as Skin Boosters, Microneedling, or Polynucleotides for even more radiance and long-term rejuvenation.

Consistency is key, the best skincare routine is the one you’ll actually stick to!
